Description of the Project:
LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS FROM EU COUNTRIES NOT FRENCH for intercultural learning reasons
The volunteers will be involved to the activities organised by the local Red Cross in 5 different areas. The volunteers WILL NOT be involved in emergency situations and WILL NOT deal with First Aid interventions.
They will be involved in the following activities:
- Social and cultural entertainment activities in rest homes for eldery people;
- Food distribution activities: In collaboration with the local authorities, the service provides the distribution of goods to a group of local families with fewer opportunities. The aim of the project is to regularly support the families in need, attempting to lighten their financial burdens and provide personal support;
- Homeless support activities (Unità di Strada): the Unità di Strada project was conceived to create a first contact with homeless people that temporarily or permanently reside in our city. The volunteers take care of the stock and distribution of clothes, preparation of hot meals/beverages, having a respectful interaction with those who are willing to. The project is focused on building ties aimed at creating a potential recovery process towards the community.
- Laundry service: service for the homeless, to allow them to do laundry. The aim of this service is to provide an opportunity for homeless people to do laundry.
- Tempo della Gentilezza: this service was born for Covid-19. It provides support for people who are alone or in isolation, delivering their groceries or medicines at home.
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT DURING THE EMERGENCY SITUATION RELATED TO COVID-19 PANDEMIC, DUE TO THEIR SPECIFICITIES, THE ACTIVITIES MIGHT CHANGE AND BE REORGANISED OR REDUCED.
